Art Bikes: Metal, rubber and no chain
Grand Rapids, Michigan’s second-biggest city, just kicked off Artprize, a competition that offers the world’s largest prize amount – $250,000 – for the artist who wins first place. This year’s competition has attracted 1,713 artists displaying their work at 192 venues across the city. The unusual thing is that the winners are chosen not by panels of experts but by regular folks, residents and visitors who attend the event.
